A stellar performance at the 100th Sternstunde event, business’s finest hour

Tanja Dammann-Götsch, expert in automotive industry purchasing, fires up her audience at the premier event for entrepreneurs


Frankfurt (Main), November 24, 2014 – The centenary Sternstunde took place on November 6th and proved to be a stellar event for business – just as the organizers had announced it would be. This community event by the Rheinhessen Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), Junior Chamber International (Wirtschaftsjunioren), and the Chamber of Craft Trades (Handwerkskammer) took place at the IHK headquarters. Organization and moderation was handled by Heinz Meloth, head of the Mainz-Wiesbaden Marketing Club. The ten speakers in total had exactly ten minutes each for their presentations. “Each speaker used the ten minutes to focus on the real light bulb moments and eye-openers, so each one got the point quickly,” Meloth said, summing up what was special about this event. The range of topics covered the core themes of leadership, management, marketing, and sales.
Tanja Dammann-Götsch, the owner of Purchasing Partner and a purchasing expert in the automotive industry, opened the event with her lecture, “From pushing down prices to shaping the company: turning purchasing into profits”. A purchasing coach and an experienced trainer of purchasing professionals and managers, Tanja Dammann-Götsch presented her concept, “Four Steps to Becoming a Purchasing Professional”. She rounded out her short presentation with practical tips for buyers in small and medium-sized businesses. Her credo is: “Motivated purchasing professionals and managers prevent shortfalls in materials, ensure long-term product quality, enhance the innovation of suppliers, contribute to employee loyalty, and counteract the shortage of skilled workers.” Her inspiring presentation had an electrifying effect on the audience at this special event for entrepreneurs. The short presentations were followed by intensive and extended talks, at which audience members confirmed to Dammann-Götsch that many corporations are increasingly open to the idea of buyers actively shaping their companies.

As managing director of the Purchasing Partner company, Dammann-Götsch has been training and coaching leaders in automotive industry purchasing in the United States, Mexico and Europe since 2006. She is also a regular speaker at trade fairs and conferences. Before starting her own company, Dammann-Götsch was a leader in the industry for over fifteen years, including the Training & Development department at one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. She lives in Hanau.
